In this class, I'm extremely excited to learn how to incorporate visual aids and PowerPoint presentations into my classroom. Based on my own experience I believe that incorporating visuals helps complex Concepts become easier to understand as well as engage students more actively. I am especially interested in how to combine both visual aids with other teaching strategies such as gameifying lessons to create an interactive and dynamic lesson. I hope that taking this class will help me be able to teach and deliver content in a way that is informative but also interesting and stimulating for my students.
I previously worked at a Girl Scout summer camp. At this summer camp, we prioritized their learning which allowed me to use technology in my teaching. We use visual aids such as PowerPoints as well as robot encoding to help Engage The students. and make the lessons more interactive and fun. The technology not only helps my students stay engaged with the material but helps me communicate more effectively. This experience taught me how important it is to use technology and these tools and apply them in the classroom.
My Personal Learning Network consists of family, friends, advisors, and a larger online community. Many of the people that my parents went to school with are teachers so I often turn to them for advice on the future. as well as following Educators on TikTok where I find lesson ideas and teaching strategies as well as inspiration to keep going in school. This diverse community of my own personal connections and online resources pushes me to stay motivated as I continue to grow in my journey. I look forward to expanding this network further through own experiences that I'll gain in this class.
Hi Aaliyah! I think that is very interesting that you used technology at a girl scout camp. It just shows you how much the times have changed that technology is used in literally every aspect of everyday life including being a girl scout.

ReplyDeleteHi! I also want to be a teacher and I am interested in learning how to make games for our students to learn. I was a Girl Scout when I was younger, so I find it really cool that you used technology to teach your students. I would have loved to be taught using a Powerpoint at camp!
