Web Design Reflection
I already knew how to make websites because when I was younger my grandmother made me create her website. However, I learned much more from this assignment now that I'm in college as well as adapting to the new updates and technology. I've developed new skills in layout organization, color theory and so much more. I used the contrast principle by using a dark background with lighter-colored text to make it easier to read. Additionally, I applied alignment by making sure that all of the text and images were properly structured in the middle. I enjoyed the creative freedom I'm designing my website however I found the fact that I wasn't able to place certain icons exactly where I wanted it a little annoying. In the future, I can use these website design skills to create professional portfolios, educational blogs, or even business websites.
Creative Use of QR Codes in the Classroom
QR codes can be an interactive tool for engagement within the classroom. One way to use QR codes in the classroom is for a scavenger hunt. For example, I could place multiple QR codes around the classroom that link to different clues, videos, or interactive quizzes related to a particular lesson. By using QR codes it would make learning more engaging and fun for students. Another idea could be to create QR codes for homework help. For example, students could scan the code and gain access to tutorial videos or resources.
Ethical Use of Technology: Case Study Response
Case Study: A teacher uses a shared Google Drive to distribute resources, but a student accidentally accesses a folder containing confidential student information. The teacher realizes the mistake when a student mentions seeing the grades and personal data of classmates.
Until the ethical situation ethically, I would first secure all confidential files by adjusting the folder permissions. Next, I would inform my school administration to change how I'm organizing the folders for sensitive data. Lastly, I would educate students I'm using technology responsibly as well as reinforce privacy policies. This solution would be ethical because it protects the student’s privacy as well as acknowledging my mistake as well as preventing future data breaches.
